Where Horsemanship Meets Healing
A regulation-first approach to helping horses heal old tension, build stability, and grow into capable, confident partners.
The Grounded to Confident Path
The Grounded to Confident Path is the developmental journey inside Willow’s Way. It guides horses from regulating their nervous systems and teaching them to ground, to true resilience, building stability, adaptability, and confidence over time.
This path is powerful for horses who feel tense, reactive, inconsistent, or shut down, but it is just as valuable for lesson horses, retirees, performance horses, and horses in regular work. Every horse benefits from learning how to feel organized, balanced, and secure in their body and relationships.
We begin by helping the horse soften and regulate. From there, we build balance (mental and physical) in motion, thoughtful strength, and the ability to handle pressure without bracing or shutting down.
The tools are simple and always adapted to the individual horse. Sometimes that includes food rewards and a clicker. Sometimes it is quiet, well-timed pressure and release. The release is never the reward we always follow up with a treat or withers scratch.
What matters most is clarity, consistency, and feel.
This is not a quick fix. It is a path horses can return to again and again.
Sessions are 45 minutes to 1 hour.

I’m Chelsie Brooks, an equine behavior specialist and an IAABC member with over 30 years of experience in the horse world. At the core of my work is a belief that horses deserve a voice. Every behavior is a form of communication, and when we take the time to listen, we uncover what our horses truly need. My role is to help you understand those signals and guide both horse and rider toward trust, relaxation, and balance. The general goal is always the same…creating space for horses to be heard and for real partnership to grow.
